6.5. SERVANTS

Ephesians 6:5 "Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters ..."

Ephesians 6:7 "with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord ..."

Acceptance of the Lordship of Christ will make us better workers. Looking to man for recognition and reward often proves disappointing. We are to look to the Lord. Pleasing Him will be approved and rewarded, presently and eternally. Being Holy Spirit filled, helps us to be at our best in our employment, and glorifies our Lord.

Ephesians 6:9 "... masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him."

Christian employers are to be just and considerate; not oppressive and threatening. They are to reverence Jesus as Lord, and emulate His example of impartiality. The Spirit-filled life is evident in the Christian master's relationship with those who serve him.
