Under this Levitical regulation any issue from the body of a man or woman, whether blood or any other kind, makes him unclean and one who communicates uncleanness.
Discharges that are normal and unavoidable for men (Leviticus 15:16-18 ), for women (Leviticus 15:19-24 ). Abnormal secretions for men (Leviticus 15:3 ), or women (Leviticus 15:25 ), possibly caused by venereal or related diseases. Such would require strict quarantine.
Leviticus 15:31 "Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them."
To offer worship or other service to God, with known physical defilement by sin is an outrage upon the holiness of God.
The issues which pollute speak of what the Lord called the commandments of men.
Matthew 15:9 "And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."
What is taught by man has a defiling effect when it is not true and not consistent with the Word of God, no matter how famous the preacher, teacher, or revered the pulpit from which it is uttered. How careful we should be to stay on the safe ground of proclaiming only that we know to be what the Scripture says, with no admixture of our own views. Paul backs up this warning:
Titus 1:14 "not giving heed to Jewish fables (i.e.myths) and commandments of men who turn from the truth."
False teaching usually goes hand in hand with false practice in turning others away from the truth. Its an insistence that there be obedience to the commandments of men as though they be the commandments of God - making the commandments of God of none effect. (Colossians 2:21-22 ). Healthy teaching is spreading sound doctrine. That is the true Word of God.
