To help those meeting in homes in fellowship around the Word of God, we offer the following suggestions:

Give a portion of time to worship, this will include singing, praying, uniting your voices in adoration of the Lord.
Allow time to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the group, to the family His Church and what His concerns are for the nation and the world.
Be open to the functioning of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 12:7-11; 14:26 ).
Make the study of the scriptures the group's priority. To achieve this it is strongly recommended that a book of the Bible be studied, chapter by chapter.
In using the material made available by The Four Eleven Foundation, follow these suggestions:
  • Read the portion of scripture that is to be the subject of study.
  • The leader then could use the material provided by The Four Eleven Foundation to give a breakdown of the teaching in the selected passage.
  • Encourage others to comment on truths they see in the portion.
  • Then the leader can use the Questions For Group Interaction provided in The Four Eleven Foundation studies.
  • All the Questions For Group Interaction do not have to be used. Be selective. Be sensitive. Be ready to stay with a question when there is a flow of interaction in the group.
  • Apply the main points and lessons learned.
  • Spend time in quiet prayer to let the practical personal applications soak in.
  • Be open to confirming, encouraging words from the Holy Spirit through any member of the group.
Let the leaders weigh carefully what has been said in discussion, and particularly by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Affirm these again in prayer.
Over a cup of coffee, encourage the group to tell one another what the sharing of the Word has meant to them personally
