3.6. BE SPIRIT-FILLED -OFFER SUBMITTED WORSHIP

Those drunken with wine are given to riotous behavior. On the other hand, those who drink of the Holy Spirit exhibit a spirit of yieldedness. They willingly practise the request:

Ephesians 5:21 "submitting to one another in the fear of God."

As we look in these verses, at the evidence of being filled with the Spirit, we note that the Spirit-filled 'SPEAK' (Ephesians 5:19 ) that which is up building; 'SING' (Ephesians 5:19 ) thanksgiving to God; 'SUBMIT' (Ephesians 5:21 ) one to another. The act of submission in all our relationships is part of Spirit-filled worship. It is worshipful recognition of God's all-authority, and the Lordship of Christ over all our relationships. In corporate Holy Spirit worship of believers, the unity of the body of Christ is revealed in the sweet yieldedness of each member in particular. There can be no true "singing in the Spirit" without true submission one to the other out of reverence for Christ. Therefore, when this kind of worship takes place, there is an immediacy of the Lord's presence, because the Lord specially delights in the manifested submission of His people.

That we may offer to God the worship in the Spirit that He requires, we must become sipping saints, drinking again, and again, according to the instructions of the Lord Jesus in John 7:37-39 which involves being thirsty; drinking to our full capacity, then expressing in faith what the Lord gives; going on day by day in a continuous fullness of the Spirit. And remember, Joel's Place is always open. You can always offer Spirit-filled worship and service to God.
