Worshipers in the Spirit are inseparable, they love to be together. When force of circumstances keep them apart, upon release, they migrate automatically to their own company. Peter and John, upon being released, immediately sought out their own company.
Acts 4:23 "And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them."
It never occurred to Peter and John to go anywhere else, other than to their own people. That was where they belonged. Their own people were believing, Spirit-baptized people who owned Jesus as Lord. They were sure of a warm, affectionate reception from these fellow members of the family of God. And that is exactly what they received. They would have experienced coldness and rejection had they gone to one of the local synagogues instead. There, cold eyes would have scrutinized these men just released from prison and interrogated by the authorities.
It is not possible for the Spirit-filled worshiper to be content among frozen, critical and rejecting people. We are to witness everywhere, but when it comes to worshiping, there is only one right place to be, that is, among our own people. We are set apart to our own people, and with them we find contentment and fulfilment and enablement. Three things happened upon the return of Peter and John:
Acts 4:23 tells us that Peter and John reported all. Spirit-filled leaders can be completely open and candid with their own Spirit-filled people. It is right and necessary that the spiritual family be fully informed. Peter and John were able to tell their people "all that the chief priests and elders had said to them" There was no fear that the people could not take it, or be intimidated, bewildered or distressed. Spirit-filled worshipers are able to face up to persecution in faith.
Acts 4:24 "So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord ..."
Spirit-filled people respond to persecution with prayer and praise. It is significant to note that they prayed Scripture together, perhaps a Scripture given to one of the leaders or people, by the Holy Spirit. Anyway, they prayed it with the application to their circumstances, aloud, and together. There is great effectiveness in praying together Scripture that has been made a rhema (a spoken word of God) in a given situation. Notice the specific requests they made of the Lord (Acts 4:24-30 ).

![]() | Lord, stretch out your hand to heal. |

When Spirit-filled worshipers, together, as a family, or meeting as the local church, ask particularly, and specifically and Scripturally, they get what they ask. Corporate prayer is mighty prayer.
There was an immediate release of power in answer to their prayer.
Acts 4:31 "And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
Worshiping together as set apart, Spirit-baptized people, will result in a new power release equipping us to meet the need of the hour.
