1 Corinthians 14:15 teaches us that we can decide to sing in our new tongue or in a known language. By following this exercise, the family can be used to sing new songs unto the Lord.
![]() | All begin to sing in your new tongues. Keep singing until a rhythm or kind of chant emerges, keep singing this tune until all are singing together in harmony. |
![]() | Now each one change to known language and keep singing until a clear, simple, ordered refrain or verse emerges. |
![]() | Write down the lines to retain the song -then sing two or three times again together. Now record the singing of your new song. |
![]() | Lay hands on those members of the family who desire for the first time to be used in giving a message in tongues, impart this gift to them in the name of the Lord Jesus. |
![]() | Lay hands on those members of the family who desire the gift of interpretation, impart the gift in the name of the Lord Jesus. |
![]() | Let each member of the family co-operate with the Holy Spirit in speaking in tongues. |
![]() | Now go around from left to right, first one speaks a sentence or two in tongues, then let the next member of the family speak by faith the short interpretation. |
![]() | Keep going till all the family, according to the measure of their faith, have spoken in tongues and have interpreted. |
![]() | Make a note of all the important things that were said. |
![]() | Begin first as a family, using your new languages aloud in worship. |
![]() | One leads off with an inspirational sentence -then the next on the right takes up the inspired theme and adds a sentence or two. The next one picks up the theme and continues for a sentence or two, until the whole family has trusted and harmonized with the Spirit. |
![]() | Write down some of the things that were said which spoke to the needs of the family. |
![]() | Have a time of thanking the Lord and sharing scripture that confirms what has been shared in the Spirit. |
By means of these simple participation exercises, the whole family, drinking at Joel's Place, can flow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Such families will have no difficulty in operating in the gifts of the Spirit in the Home Cell or in fellowship. Neither will they have any problems flowing with the gifts in the congregational meetings. This is the Kingdom life we are now to enjoy, let us as families obey Ephesians 5:18-21. As a family, speak in the Spirit, sing in the Spirit and submit in the Spirit. What a blessing to the community are the families who are drinking at Joel's Place.
