4.1. PERMEATED WITH THE STRENGTH OF THE
LORD
4.1.1. DAVID TESTIFIED TO THIS EXPERIENCE
Psalm 18:1,32-34 "I will love thee, O
LORD, my strength. 32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way
perfect. 33 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine
arms."
He clung to the Lord with the grip of love that would not be denied. A love that focussed on the awesomeness of the Lord. The expression "O
Lord" is one of wonderment, he was permeated with the Lord's sufficiency. His declaration "my strength" was a confession that he needed a
personal infusion of the Lord's strength to overcome. He was saying, "You, Lord, are my physical and my spiritual strength." He had faced the lion,
the bear and Goliath in that knowledge. In his weakness he was strong in the Lord's might. The strength of the Lord armed him, and gave the
ability to stand - the Lord strengthened his legs and made them swift, kept him from falling - and gave power to stand in high places. He felt the
rush of the Lord's might when bending a bow of bronze. His testimony is to divine health, without which he could not have served as God's
representative.
Divine healing and health are provided to make us effective in service.
Psalm 27:1 "The LORD is my light and my
salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Our life derives its strength from the Lord who is the Author of it. The parts of our bodies are known to Him, He replenishes, revitalises, renews
them by "gifts of healings". The Lord is my strength - "of whom shall I be afraid?" Satan? - Demons? - plagues? No! Not with God as my light,
salvation, and unfailing strength. God, actively engaging His strength in me, is the secret of divine health.
4.1.2. PRAYER REQUESTS THIS EXPERIENCE
Psalm 68:28 "Thy God hath commanded
thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us."
You are sure to get what God has "commanded" - your healing - your health - your strength. The Lord always finishes what He commands and
begins. This is a prayer of faith.
4.1.3. PROCLAIM CONFIDENTLY THIS EXPERIENCE
Psalm 29:11 "The LORD will give strength
unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace."
The psalm describes the glory and exceeding might of the Lord. It is the unlimited one who gives strength to His people. This verse is a
proclamation of His peoples' inheritance - permeated with His healing word. The Psalmist gives us examples of declaring proclamation of divine
health and protection.
Psalm 103:5 "Who satisfieth thy mouth
with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."
Psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart
faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."
Psalm 91:10 "There shall no evil befall
thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling."
