2. POWER OUTREACH

It is perhaps surprising to find such abundant evidence of divine healing outreaching the believing community. How wonderful to see God reaching out to the whosoever in divine healing. Power evangelism should be the order of the day.

KJV Mark 16:20 "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."

2.1. POWER OUTREACH IN THE MINISTRY OF JESUS

2.1.1. JESUS REACHED OUT TO THOSE WHO WERE OUTSIDE HIS FOLLOWERS

KJV John 5:13 "And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place."

KJV John 9:36 "He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?"

2.1.2. JESUS REACHED OUT IN COMPASSION TO THE WHOEVER

Even when a soldier of the Roman army told Jesus his servant was sick, His response was immediate.

KJV Matthew 8:6-7 "And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him."

In the ministry of Jesus divine healing and divine grace were one and the same.

2.1.3. JESUS REACHED OUT IN LIKENESS TO THE FATHER

His Father normally gave the blessing of sun and rain to both the deserving and undeserving. Jesus healed because they were sick, not to get the acclaim of men. The giving nature of the father and the Son is one. The Father so loved He gave (John 3:16 ). The Son gave Himself for our sins.

KJV Galatians 1:4 "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:"

The giving Jesus healed the whoever.

2.1.4. JESUS REACHED OUT TO REVEAL THE KINGDOM OF GOD

He said

KJV Matthew 4:17 "... Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The Kingdom of God is made visible for you in the healing King of love.

2.1.5. JESUS REACHED OUT TO THE RELATIVES OF THOSE WHO SERVED HIM

KJV Matthew 8:14-15 "And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them."

Jesus reached out in special love to Peter's mother-in-law. Was the great healing meeting that evening the result of her talking? (Matthew 8:16 ). Mother's-in-law are loved, touched and healed by Jesus.

2.2. POWER OUTREACH IN THE MINISTRY OF APOSTLES

2.2.1. PETER AND JOHN REACHED OUT TO A BEGGAR - THEY HAD SOMETHING TO GIVE

KJV Acts 3:6 "... but such as I have give I thee: ..."

2.2.2. PAUL REACHED OUT TO PUBLIUS'S FATHER WITH A GIFT OF HEALING

KJV Acts 28:8 "And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him."

Witness is the outflow of His compassion through us.

2.3. POWER OUTREACH THROUGH AN EVANGELIST, PHILIP

KJV Acts 8:6-7 "And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. "

When we flow in evangelism, gifts of healing flow.

2.4. POWER OUTREACH THROUGH A PROPHET, BARNABAS

KJV Acts 14:14 "Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,"

From Acts 13:1 we know he was a prophet. Those in the prophetic office have a ministry to the world. New Testament prophets took an active roll in reaching their known world for God. In the New Testament there was no ministry uninvolved in evangelism.
