Special Work and Special Equipment of Workers (Exodus 31:1-18)
God empowered craftsmen with the Holy Spirit so they were able to do the intricate work for the tabernacle.
Bezaleel means 'in the shadow of God'. He was overshadowed by the power of the Highest. (Cf Luke
1:35 )
Notice:
God selects the individual that He requires for His particular purpose. He did then and He does today.
God has a lifework for each of His children. Each must discover His plan, and train for His plan, and
dedicate ourselves to His plan.
Even in craftsmanship we can know the enablement of the Holy Spirit, just as Bezaleel did, through
being filled with the Holy Spirit (Exodus 31:3 ).
The Holy Spirit gives understanding so that we can work intelligently, wisdom so that we can work with
skill, knowledge so that we can work knowing His will, and His supernatural ability in accomplishing our work.
The Sabbath Commandment is Repeated (Exodus 31:12-18)
The Sabbath was made a sign of God's unique relationship with Israel as
His own people. The importance of this sign is seen in the insistence of later prophets, that
Sabbath-keeping was an indication of the spiritual condition of the people (Jeremiah
17:19-27. Ezekiel 20:12-24 ). Ryrie
