6. PERSONAL FAREWELLS (Ephesians 6:21-24)

Paul showed his care and concern for the Ephesians by not only writing, but sending a trusted representative to them, Tychicus. Those who have a ministry of responsibility for churches can learn much from how Paul continued to care for churches he could not at that time personally visit. He accomplished his awesome task by using well prepared and chosen messengers.

Tychicus for example:

-Had ministry gift (Ephesians 6:21 ).
-Was a loved and loving brother (Ephesians 6:21 ).
-Was faithful in ministry (Ephesians 6:21 ).
-Ministered in the Lord (Ephesians 6:21 ).
-Had knowledge of all things (Ephesians 6:21 ).
-Had personal knowledge of the apostle's affairs (Ephesians 6:22 ).
-Had the means to comfort their hearts (Ephesians 6:22 ).

The local church will be healthy and strong in family relationships, when provided with such messengers, and will welcome them. For the leading brethren Paul turns them to the source of all peace, love, faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 6:23 ), three commodities ever needed and ever supplied (Ephesians 6:23 ). For all those who truly love the Lord Jesus - grace with them, enduringly - evidently - energisingly - effectively.
