1.2.2. FUNCTIONING IN GROUP OR MOTIVATION GATHERINGS

Weeknight Gatherings Or House Fellowships

These are led by servant shepherds. They lead you into sharing ministry with each other. The early Church had general gatherings in which they continued steadfastly in teaching and instruction of the gift ministries. Their general gatherings were held at the Temple. They also met in groups from house to house.

KJV Acts 2:42,46,47 "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. "

Group Or House Fellowships Give Personal Motivation At Three Levels

A sharing in personal explanation:

Learning together around the Word. It can be centred in what the Lord is giving the body through gift ministries at the general gatherings. This is further expanded in sharing with each other, and corporately abiding and dwelling in the Word. Personal release is received, through the truth received and put into daily practice.

NKJV John 8:31,32 "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 'And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.'"

A sharing in personal participation:

Fellowshipping personally in what the Lord is doing in His body. The home fellowship is the natural place where every member s participation is possible. Each has the opportunity to minister to another, and by participation can learn his or her member function.

NKJV 1 Peter 4:10 "As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

You are urged to take heed to your ministry received from the Lord. (Romans 12:1-8 )

NKJV Colossians 4:17 "... Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it."

NKJV 1 Corinthians 14:24 "But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all."

The home fellowship provides motivation to develop practical ministries that serve the body and in outreach to the community.

A sharing in personal experimentation:

Putting into practice truth learned, and sharing its application to our lives. Fellowshipping together in what the Lord is revealing to the body, and sharing our learning experiences on home life, home management, intercession, personal evangelism and so on. In so doing we help one another to become doers of the Word.

NKJV James 1:22 "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."

1.2.3. FUNCTIONING IN GUIDANCE OR MEDITATIVE GATHERINGS

These can take the form of planned seminars studied with shepherd teachers, visiting guest teachers, gatherings called especially for seminar purposes of providing teaching in specific areas of need. Examples include Bible teaching for new believers in intercession, discipleship, training classes for Sunday Schools, home structure, life management, stewardship, health principles, Bible truths needing emphasis and evangelism among children. Such meditative gatherings will perfect believers and strengthen individual ministries.

1.2.4. FUNCTIONING IN GIVING OR MULTIPLYING GATHERINGS

The coming together of leaders to speak into each others lives, encourage each other and give of themselves to each other. Ours is not a body just to be admired, it is functional. Let individual members realize it is our purpose and privilege to function in the Holy Spirit under the direction of the Lord Jesus the head of the body.
