1.1.4. SERVE, FULFILLING GOD'S WRITTEN WORD

 KJV Hebrews 10:7 "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. "

-WHAT THE WORDS DESCRIBE: The complete submission and obedience of Jesus to the written will of God.
-WHAT THE WORDS DECLARE: That the purpose of Jesus Christ among men was to do the will of God.
-WHAT THE WORDS DEMAND: That Jesus fulfill all righteousness (Matthew 3:15; 5:17 ).

What is written in the volume of the book concerning the body of Christ, is required of each one who is a part of it (1 Corinthians 12:27 ). Here is a brief outline of what the Word describes, declares and demands of all body members:-



Let Your Life-style Be What Is Written

-Live out the inner kingdom attitudes and fruit of the Spirit (Matthew 5:3-12; Galatians 5:22-23 ).
-Live so as to be salt and light to the world (Matthew 5:13-14 ).
-Live the self-denying, cross-bearing, discipled life (Matthew 16:24 ).
-Live perfecting holiness, urged by God's awesomeness (2 Corinthians 7:1 ).
-Live your whole life in the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25; Jude 20 ).
-Live a life of faith that pleases God (Hebrews 11:6; Romans 15:13 ).
-Live a life of obedience that shows your love for Jesus (John 14:15,21,23 ).



Let Your Fellowship Be What Is Written

-Be a channel of Holy Spirit fellowship (2 Corinthians 13:14 ).
-Be willing to mutually share in carrying burdens (Galatians 6:2 ).
-Be a partner in the gospel (Philippians 4:3 ).
-Be persistent in responsive love (Hebrews 13:1; 1 Peter 2:17; 1 John 4:7,8,11,12-13 ).
-Be eager to be involved in doing good (Titus 2:13-14; Colossians 3:12; Psalm 37:21 ).
-Be ready to encourage others (Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:24; Romans 12:15 ).
-Be submissive to Christ the Head of the body (Ephesians 4:15 ).



Let Your Practical Contribution Be What Is Written
-Be hospitable to the Lord's people (Romans 12:13; 1 Peter 4:9; 3 John 5; Hebrews 13:2 ).
-Be generous towards the needy (Acts 4:32-36; Acts 11:29; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11; Hebrews 13:16 ).



Let Your Prayer Life Be What Is Written

-Be dependent on the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26 ).
-Be alert and always pray in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18 ).
-Be confident in your praying (Hebrews 4:16; 1 John 5:14 ).
-Be devoted to prayer and to thanksgiving (Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ).
-Be a builder of your faith by prayer, and develop your intimacy with the Holy Spirit, appropriating His energy (Jude 20 ).



Let Your Example Be What Is Written

-In paying what you owe (Romans 13:7 ).
-In doing what is right (2 Corinthians 8:21 ).
-In forgiving others (Matthew 6:14; Luke 17:3; Ephesians 4:32 ).
-In defending the faith (1 Peter 3:15; Colossians 4:5 ).
-In living in harmony with others (Psalm 133:1; Romans 15:5-7; 1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 Peter 3:8 ).
-In being steadfast (2 Thessalonians 2:15; Hebrews 10:23 ).
-In being trustworthy and accountable (Psalm 15:1-4; 1 Corinthians 4:2 ).
-Is the written Word of God the rule of your life? (Psalm 40:8 ).

Use this brief sketch on being what is written, to test yourself ( 2 Corinthians 13:5 ) as to whether you are being what the Lord intended you to be. Is He having unhindered use of you as a body member?
