INTRODUCTION

KJV Galatians 5:22,23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. "

All the beautiful "fruit" of the Spirit, in their ninefold qualities, are in reality the disposition of Jesus produced in His people as they live and walk controlled by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25 ). It is important to understand that the singular "fruit" is used in contrast with the plural "works" of the flesh.

-Could the use of the word "works" imply that the sins of the flesh operate assertively independent, in rampant disorder?
-Will such a life be one of instability and uncertainty, being driven and controlled by the dictates of the flesh? Your former state outside Christ provides the answer.
-What lies behind Paul's use of the word "fruit" instead of fruits? It is his intention to point to Jesus who in Himself is the fruit in perfection.
-Can the fruit mean anything less than the Spirit reproducing Christ Jesus in us?
-Should those who win souls to Christ be like a mother in travail till Christ be fully formed in them? (Galatians 4:19; Ephesians 4:13 ).

-The fruit of the Spirit has a GOD-WARD aspect, LOVE, JOY, PEACE.
-The fruit of the Spirit has a MANWARD aspect LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS.
-The fruit of the Spirit has an INWARD aspect, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE.

It is Jesus seen in all His beauty
