2.4 A MIRACLE ACKNOWLEDGED (2 Thessalonians 2:13,14)
With relief Paul turns from those that perish because they will not believe the truth, to acknowledging with
thanksgiving the miracle of grace in Thessalonian believing brethren (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 ).
These saved by grace have the salvation of their bodies ahead of them, which would complete their salvation
in the purpose of God (Philippians 3:20-21 ).
2 Thessalonians 2:14
"To which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus
Christ."
Our salvation viewed from God's order of things is:
- Divine love "beloved" (2 Thessalonians 2:13 ).
- Divine intention "chosen" for salvation, sanctification and glorification (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 ).
- Divine call - called through the gospel (2 Thessalonians 2:14 ).
Our salvation viewed from the human order of things reversed:
- Loved, called by the gospel.
- Reception - of the truth by faith.
- Chosen for salvation, sanctification, glorification at His coming.
We can rejoice in sure hope; in a shaking world we are unshaken.
